The Americano Rohloff touring bike combines unmatched frame reliability with the amazing Rohloff Speedhub’s 14 internal gears, eliminating the need for derailleurs. Borrowing from our tandem experience, we include our own machined self-locking eccentric bottom bracket for simple and clean belt alignment. And incorporate standard 145mm tandem frame spacing for a super strong dish-less rear wheel. We designed our own polished 17-4 stainless steel dropouts for elegant and simple integration of the Rohloff hub system. These Rohloff-specific dropouts are designed for the OEM version of the Rohloff hub, which automatically re tensions the belt when replacing the wheel. No need to align and tension the belt every time you change a flat tire. Plus these new dropouts are stronger, stiffer, and definitely sexier.
This edition of the Americano Rohloff uses the Gates CenterTrack belt drive system for sleek appearance, low maintenance and unparalleled reliability while touring. You will also notice the new Co-Motion made 14-speed drop-bar shifter, conveniently placed next to the stem for comfortable upright shifting. Other key features include; dual disc brakes for excellent safety and control, larger head-tube with Chris King internal headset, fittings for three water bottles, front and rear racks along with full fenders. With polished stainless steel S&S couplers, this is the ultimate touring bike to travel the globe.
This frame was for Kyle K. up in Portland, OR. After moving to OR, Kyle wanted a bike that could handle the vigors of riding and racing in the Pacific Northwest. This bike has full internal cable routing to protect your shifting in horrible conditions. It also has custom bent seat stays and an external relieved headtube. Topping it all off, we went with a nice loud, race ready paint scheme.
