Ventus Custom Cycles was founded in 2006 as a custom frame painting company by Mark Kargol as a way to express his creativity while working full time as a firefighter in Lincoln Nebraska. With degrees from Iowa State University in Architecture and in fine arts Mark has a passion for design and a clear understanding of what it takes to turn the ideas in to reality.
Now located in Ames Iowa Ventus’s founder is pursuing a Masters in Industrial Design which is providing an even greater understanding of manufacturing methods and cutting edge technology that can be incorporated in to bicycle design.
This is the second year at NAHBS for Ventus Custom Cycles, after showing last year much media attention was received for the titanium lugged, carbon fiber tubed bicycle that Ventus showed at the 2012 NAHBS show. This bike kept the classic appearance of a 1950′s touring bike but incorporated current technology such as a tapered head tube, internal cable routing, press-fit 30 bottom bracket, integrated seatmast, and a very special set of Campagnolo Athena components that were polished and engraved with the classic Campagnolo logos.
All Ventus Custom frames carry a classic sense of style and is handbuilt using exceptional materials and parts chosen for the specific use and styling of the completed bicycle.
