Mary Elizabeth and ALLONEWORD Handmade Cycle Caps.
In 2008 started making cycling caps to impress this extremely sexy guy at a local bike shop. He was impressed – yes!– with the caps — dang. We became friends, and I made more caps for more friends. Then realized that I I love making caps, and being with bike folks. Within a year I had sold my car, bought two more sewing machines, and a new bike (Gary Fisher Simple City). Also, I have realized that my life long love of art, up to and including a bachelor of arts in Art History, informs how I design caps. Now, I sell caps online (www.allonewordshop.com and on Etsy) and a few local shops Alameda Bicycle (the first shop to sell my caps and home of the sexy bike guy) and Montano Velo (Lou Reed cool shop), and a shop in Purcellville, VA Velo Classique. Right now there are folks in alloneword caps Germany, Canada, Finland, England, Norway, Australia, France, Italy, and all over the USA. In 2010 I started taking my caps to bike shows around California Pedalfest in Oakland, SF Expo and Philadelphia, PA. Philadelphia Bike Expo . The final piece of the puzzle! Seeing bike peeps in my caps! It thrills me every time I see someone in an ALLONEWORD cap. Talking with bike folks (& looking at fancy stunning beautiful bikes at shows) is icing on the cake. Please stop by and say Hi — I’d love to meet you.
